The Native Trees of Seattle City Parks
Native plants support healthy and functional ecosystems.
Given that I and many others don't know our native tree species that well,
I've made a map of many of them found across Seattle city parks (North of Yesler Way because of file size constraints).
These data were pulled from the Seattle Tree Inventory Map on March 20, 2026.
I have annotated which species are native to the area and plotted them larger, where color denotes taxonomic family.
Non-native specimens are denoted by small black dots.
